Giles is co-director of Asheville Contemporary Dance Theatre.  He has lived abroad in France and Israel, and has performed internationally.  Giles currently teaches modern and boy’s dance at the New Studio of Dance in Asheville.  In addition to dance, Giles is a fencer and instructs students in foil and saber technique.  He has performed with ACDT since 1986 and most recently premiered his work at the Asheville Fringe Festival and Men Dancing IV.

Jenni received her M.A. in Dance and Woman’s Studies from the University of North Carolina Greensboro in 2002.  She has been a member of ACDT since 2003 and is also co-creator of the group butohmoshpit.

Jaime graduated with honors from Beloit College with a BA in Theater Arts (Dance).  As a member of the Chelonia Dance Company, she has worked with many different choreographers and has performed throughout the Midwest, Washington, D.C., and in Moscow, Russia.  For the past several years she has been teaching and choreographing at private dance studios.  Jaime joined ACDT in August of 2007.

Nelson was born in Holguin city, Cuba. He studied and graduated from the National School of Art in Havana as a Modern Dancer & Teacher. He was principal dancer and choreographer in:

CODANZA (Contemporary Dance Company) in Holguin for 4 years and CUBAN NATIONAL COMPANY (Cuban Contemporary Dance) in Havana for 3 years.

Nelson moved to the US in 2002. He has received international awards as a choreographer and performer. His work has been recognized in various countries.

Brandi Hand has been dancing for 28 years. She danced for Louisiana State University, both as a “Golden Girl” and a “Tiger Girl”, was Assistant Choreographer for the New Orleans Saintsations (the NFL New Orleans Saints dance team) and even did a small amount of choreography for Southern University’s marching band. Brandi was Head Instructor for American All Star and traveled around the USA teaching at dance conventions and camps. She has also represented Louisiana in the Miss Drill Team USA Competition an received a month long scholarship to the Edge in Los Angeles where she was chosen to be a lead dancer for the Super Bowl. She has taught in every atmosphere imaginable from classical ballet studios to basketball arenas filled with 500 students.
