How many stories are there in the media inspired by women who have made history with their strength whether it be physical or not? Usually not too many.\u00a0For centuries there have been women who yielded weapons with a cutting (sharp) edge. A Blade. With this occupation in mind, the dancers of ACDT have explored the concept of movement choreographed with a blade. Through research of specific historical feminine warriors and technical training with Giles Collard, they have created\u00a0a banquet of choreography that is challengingly beautiful. In addition to some music of Vivaldi and Polly Panic who has created a score of cello music to accompany the ensemble, adding to the\u00a0exhilarating movement design. Susan Collard has been creating dances for 45 years not only in the United States but through commissions in Cuba, France, Columbia, M\u00e9xico. Most of her work has been inspired by female figures who have helped to change history. The Loves of Tina Modotti, Looking for Frida, Mata Hari, the Obsession of\u00a0Gala just to name a few. She collaborates with her husband Giles Collard, who designs sets and costumes. ACDT Enjoys including local musicians in collaborations for some major productions . The most recent.
